In collaboration with the production team, the Designer/Industrial Drafter will develop and manage a team of junior draftspeople, meeting goals with an excellent knowledge of AutoDesk Suite products and software systems (AutoCad 2D and Inventor) and a solid understanding of SH's manufacturing processes, including knowledge of CNC machining, and a good working knowledge of wood / melamine.
The Designer/Industrial Drafter prepares, trains and assists their team in preparing models and technical drawings for the design and manufacture of cabinets.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Train and supervise a junior technical drafting team

Supervise, develop and prepare manufacturing drawings based on the Designer's 3D rendering concepts, specifications and other data

Supervise and prepare assembly instructions and layout drawings

Oversee and prepare material requirements for purchasing using Microsoft Excel

Work in conjunction with the Senior Project Manager and Production Department with documentation/engineering and product issues in the factory

Have strong team-oriented skills with the ability to also work independently and meet deadlines
SKILLS

Excellent CAD skills (Inventor/AutoDesk Suite)

Knowledge of carpentry (metal an asset)

EDUCATION

Certificate, diploma, CEGEP or University in industrial design or drawing program; or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE

5 years minimum work experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment. Experience as a supervisor an asset.
